Understanding the concept of E-Commerce


E-Commerce involves three inter related themes.

1) technology
2) business
3) Society

Technology includes internet, computer, modem, internet service provider, websites, web servers, networks, client person. 

Business- While technology provides infrastructure, business application provides potential prospects  of Return on Investment. The technology has provided new ways for organizing productions and doing transactions, the basic concept like knowledge of electronic markets, business models, industry of value market, consumer behavior in the E-market should be understood.

Society- The primary societal issues like intellectual property, individual privacy and the public policy should be understood.

    Celebrity Branding
  •   Celebrity advertising is the use of a public figure’s likeness for the purpose of selling a product or service.
  • Celebrity advertising can be accomplished through celebrity endorsements, whereby the celebrity consents for his or her likeness to be used in advertisements for a certain brand.
  • ·Celebrity advertising without the celebrity’s consent results in products that are referred to as “bootleg” merchandise or “knock-offs,” which feature the celebrity’s photo or likeness on a product.
  • Celebrity endorsements imply that the celebrity uses the product or service that he or she is endorsing, and prefers it above others of its kind.

Television Advertising

  • A Television Advertising or Television Commercial, often just Commercial, advert, ad, or ad-film (India) – is a span of television programming produced and paid for by an organization, which conveys a message, typically to market a product or service.

  •   Is a generally considered the most effective mass-marketing advertising format as is reflected by the    high prices.
  •  T.V network charge for commercial airtime during popular events.

The concept is a blend of principles, theories and practices of management, information and system giving rise to a single product called MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM . The concept of management gives high regard to the individual and his ability to use the information. MIS gives information through data analysis. While analyzing the information, it relies on many academic disciplines like management science, OR, organization behavior, psychology, etc. The foundation of MIS is the principles of management and its practices. MIS uses the concept of management control in its design and relies heavily on the fact that the decision maker is a human being and is a human processor of information. A MIS can be evolved for a specific objective it is evolved after systematic planning and design.
